What is Mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma Symptoms

Asbesotosis and Asbestos Exposure
Exposure to asbestos can lead to asbesotosis later in life. Once this happens it is only a matter of time before one can expect to demonstrate symptoms of Mesothelioma Cancer, although it is possible that the patient will never progress beyond asbesotosis or asbestos and get mesothelioma. But the chances are fairly high that this will happen especially if the patient is or was a smoker. For some reason smoking increases the likelyhood that those expsosed to asbestos will later get mesothelioma in one form or another.

Mesothelioma Cancer and Asbestos Cancer
If you or a family member is at risk, and asbestos exposure can extend from the primary person exposed on the job or in the workplace, to the other family members that may come in contact with clothing or other articles contaminated with asbestos fibers and dust. Generally the exposure of the other family members is less, and so there is a greater amount of time before symptoms of asbesotosis, asbestosis, or mesothelioma show up. Early detection is still the best option for treatment.
